A Wisconsin cheese-curd retailer and a nationwide chef-arranged charcuterie kitchen, both family-run but built around different products. When you're shopping for a cheese gift online, the regional cheese specialists and the complete-board makers solve different cravings, and the right pick depends on what you actually want to arrive at the door. Cheesebros and Boarderie are both family-run American cheese companies, both believe in real artisan cheese, and both ship nationwide, but they are not the same product.
What's the actual difference between Boarderie and Cheesebros?
Boarderie ships chef-arranged cheese AND charcuterie boards overnight from our West Palm Beach kitchen, ready to set on the table. Cheesebros ships Wisconsin-made artisanal cheeses, cheese curds, and cheese-focused gift bundles by standard mail, and the recipient slices and plates them. Two different products, two different gifting moments.
Cheese Brothers, Inc. was founded in 2015 in Almena, Wisconsin by Eric Ludy and Gene Graf, who reconnected during a 2013 family visit. They sold at street fairs first, opened at Mall of America in 2015, and have since become an e-commerce-first Wisconsin cheese retailer. Eric's family has been in Wisconsin cheesemaking since 1919, when his Swiss great-grandfather Fred Ludy opened some of the state's first cheese factories. Their tagline: "For the love of Wisconsin Cheese."
We started Boarderie in 2021 to answer a different question: what would it take to deliver a catering-quality cheese AND charcuterie board, fully arranged, anywhere in the country, overnight, ready to serve? The answer became a new product category. We have been featured on ABC's Shark Tank (Season 14), selected for Oprah's Favorite Things in 2022 and 2023, and named a Food Network Editor's Pick in 2025.
Both brands believe in real cheese. The product format and the gifting job are different. Below is how they stack up.
